A cabinet sub-committee is traveling to the Eastern mountainous Elgon area to assess the disaster impact.
The mountainous Bugisu area has in the last three years been rocked by landslides which have resulted into the death of over 100 people and thousands displaced.
The ministerial team Led by 3rd deputy prime minister, Gen Moses Ali will carry out a risk assessment for the entire Bugishu and Sebei Regions which are prone to mud and landslides.
The team as well comprises of officials from different ministries.
The 3rd deputy Prime Minister Gen Moses Ali has been telling us that will try to convince the people leaving at the mountain sloped of Elgon to relocate and to also recommend long term measures to end disasters.
